About Paintrock Consulting

What does the "Paintrock" in Paintrock Consulting mean?

It is a geographic reference to the location where Paintrock Consulting was born.  It comes from Paintrock Creek, a drainage on the scenic western slope of the Big Horn Mountains in north-central Wyoming.  That creek carved a canyon by the same name, and ultimately feeds a small community that archaeologists have understood to be continuously occupied for over 11,000 years.  The town was originally named Paintrock Crossing, because the Paintrock creek crossed the Medicine Lodge creek.  Later it was renamed to Hyattville; and while remote and rural, it overlays a high speed fiber optic trunk line.

"Paintrock" is also used in a number of local and regional businesses - my goal in using the term is to tip my hat in gratitude to being able to live and work in a place I don't feel the need to take a vacation from.

  • Site to Site and Data Storage to SharePoint migrations using Microsoft's Migration tool and ShareGate
  • SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint Online deployment and implementations for Communications, Intranet, Collaboration, and Security projects
  • Remote Design and Analysis supporting Projects for a Forbes Top 50 company
  • Cloud services and data collaboration setup, support, and training
  • Multi-platform data integration 
  • Small to medium scale Windows 10 deployment and adoption
  • Website development, design, implementation, training, and hand-off to owners

  • Security system evaluation, recommendation, implementation, and training
  • Collaboration with agencies and technology leaders through the state supporting the Wyoming Broadband and ENDOW Initiatives
  • Successful formation of a 501(c)(3) corporation for non-profit Volunteer Fire Department

I believe in participating in a community that offers me so much, so my volunteer efforts consist of the following:
  • Board Member for the Hyattville Community Center; Marketing, Events, and website, since 2013
  • Former Secretary and founder of the non-profit Hyattville Volunteer Fire Department in 2014
  • President and founder of the non-profit Friends of Medicine Lodge State Park Association, founded 2015
  • Co-chair of the Bighorn Basin Outdoor Recreation Collaborative, founded in 2018 to promote, enhance, and develop sustainable outdoor recreation that encourages responsible use, personal well being, and economic benefit in the Bighorn Basin of Wyoming.  This is a pilot project for the State of Wyoming sponsored by the office of the Governor.
